The Phantom Theater ride was created and designed by Rick Bastrup and quickly became a fan favorite for Kings Island guests. Lasting 4 1/2 minutes, the omnimover-style dark ride carried guests through the theater, showing 38 ghost-like animations and 17 different scenes. Fans might remember original characters such as Maestro, The Great Garbanzo, and Hilda Bovine, among many others. Memorable scenes included the theater's dressing room, rehearsals, backstage areas, and prop room. The ride ended with the intense boiler room scene, where guests were blasted with heat to add to the immersive experience.
